tron filter assembly
Question from Bart: hi guys !!
you are amazing ! i have learned so much from you guys! thank you , thank you , thank you!!!
now…….. my problem..
4months ago my tron video an audio quit working . i changed the fuse on the ps board and now i get no audio but i do get video it however is not tron.
it is a whole screen of rotating colors. first blue then red , then yellow ect. i can tell it is the beginning screen to tron. again no audio.
it figured it maybe the power supply. i tested from this the volts are a little off in every area ex.. 115v will be 115v to 122v , 5v will be from 5v to 9v
. and 12v will 11v to 13 .. not sure if this is a problem.. assumeing its not next i tested the fitler assembly. going to it.. most values are the same as tested earlier .
but .. coming from the filter assembly… to the ps board values are 1 volt almost all on every one!! question is
im using a ground from the power supply is that ok? im assuming it is. then somewhere in the fitler assembly im haveing the problem. could it be the 100000 mf and the 55000 capacitors mf ?
i have done a resistance test and everything appears to go through. on all wirings.
btw… one of the fuses was working but didnt look real good so i replaced them borth. there was no change.
where should i go from here?
thanks so much
Bart

Response from Tim: Hey Bart
One good place to start when working on a tron especially video problems is with the ribbon cables. Arcadeshop.com sells them for $25 a set and even if that’s not all your issue I bet they need replaced. You can also get an MCR power supply rebuild kit from them which might help.
yes its ok to use the ground from your PS as long as your plug going to the wall is got the ground pin check and make sure its good.
Keep us informed
Tim
