Monitor question

Question from Marving: Hi,
I recently bought a cabinet I plan to convert into a mame. I got it really cheap with only problem being that the monitor displays a bright horizontal line across the middle. Is this worth repairing or even possible repairing? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Response from Tim: Very much worth repairing and possible. You have a vertical collapse which means your vertical IC is bad and or the capacitors in that area. We charge $75 to fix that or you can do it yourself for a lot less. Replacing that monitor will cost you at least 3 times that.
