Question from James: Hello,

First off, excellent job on the podcast. You guys do a very professional job and are the ones (that I’m aware of) that produce a podcast for arcade repair. Good stuff.

I’m 27 and I’ve been in the hobby for roughly six years now, which has amounted to a basement full of games. As anyone who’s been in the hobby for any amount of time knows, it’s extremely addicting and space consuming. I’ve went through with a tape measure, figuring out exactly how many more games I can comfortably squeeze into the basement and the number is dwindling down. This leads me to my question.

I have a dedicated 4 player Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles that’s in great shape – (this is actually the very first game I picked up and worked on, back in 2004.) I recently bought a 4 player Turtles in Time board, the sequel to the game I own, which has the same pinouts. I’ve done a fair amount of research on multi-jamma adapters, such as the one on Mike’s Arcade (http://mikesarcade.com/cgi-bin/store.pl?sku=DBLJAMMA) that has received great reviews from fellow KLOVers. All seems fairly straight forward with the wiring, but my question revolves around what to do about the 3rd and 4th player wiring. Since both boards have their own harnesses for the 3rd and 4th player controls, I’m wondering what the best method would be for wiring these together? My instincts would be to just loop both sets of the 3rd and 4th player harnesses together. This seems to be a controversial topic on the KLOV threads, so I’d like to get your take on this. I’m not sure if you have any experience with multi-jamma rigs, especially with 4-player games, but any input would be greatly appreciated.

Since the bulk of your questions seem to have been stemming from new collectors, I figured a question like this might be a fun contrast 🙂
