Question from Melodie: I have an Atari Maximum Force arcade game. The vertical hold is off and the screen scrolls uncontrollably. I looked at your website and saw how to fix this, however, there are no buttons on my monitor (inside the back of the unit) that indicate vertical hold. Can you lead me in the right direction on how to correct this issue?
Thank you
Melodie

Response from Jonathan: Melodie,
Sorry to hear about your Maximum Force not working. The vertical hold can be located in a couple of places. It could be located directly on your monitor chassis (like in our post on Adjusting An Arcade Monitor) or it could be located on a remote board. These remote boards are usually attached to the monitor chassis by a ribbon-like cable. You might look around your monitor chassis for a cable that looks like this to see if you can track down the remote board. Your vertical hold adjustment should be on this board if it’s not on the chassis.
It’s also important to note that there are different types of potentiometers. While most look like the white pots that we feature in our post, others are metal and require a flat head screwdriver or adjustment tool to adjust them. You might look on your chassis to see if you can find these metal potentiometers instead of the white, plastic potentiometers.
Hope that helps, Melodie. Thank you for your question and good luck with your repair.
