Arcade Game Help – Please
Question from Drenna: Hi
I recently picked up this arcade game from a friend…..im trying to get it working…but honestly have no idea about arcade games and really need your help.
It had no power at all when i got it and i figured out that the power cord was wired up wrong…so i fixed that…and the other thing i saw was a connector on the board was not plugged in correctly..so i plugged in the right way.
I don’t get any sound of the game just a loud squeal, the marquee doesn’t light up , their is no power to the coin part. just seems the monitor comes on..the screen is light and you can only make out game over and player one…i can’t see what game it is…it kinda looks like galaga….but it’s very very hard to see.
I took some pictures of everything inside….could you look at them and maybe give me some advice…thanks very much. Some of the wiring is going to nothing.
If you have a schematic or photo of how that wiring should be, that would be great.

Response from Jonathan: Drenna,
It sounds like your board is at least getting power since you can kind of make out the screen. You can try to adjust the arcade monitor to see if you can make the picture any brighter. Check out our post on Adjusting An Arcade Monitor for more information on how to make those adjustments. You can also try coining up and starting the game to see if you get any sound. If you can’t coin up or start the game then you might need to check the wiring going to your board. If this is an original Galaga board, you can you can find the pinouts here to see how the wiring should be going to the harness.
Hope that helps. Thank you for your question and good luck with your repair.
