Pac Man harness question
Question from Gerard: Hi,
Wondering if you could answer a 2 part question for me? I received a new pub board but I am not sure if the harness is plugged in the correct way.
1. Would this damage the board if I turn it on and the harness is reversed?
2. How can I test it and make sure it is on the correct way?

Yes, it could damage the board if the harness is reversed when you turn it on as this could send voltage to pins that were not intended to receive voltage.
In order to tell if it’s on the correct way, turn on the game WITHOUT the board hooked up and use a multimeter to tell which pins are getting voltage. Once you have determined the pins that are getting voltage, use these pinouts from MikesArcade.com to determine which way the harness should go. The parts side is the one with the chips and other electronic parts on it. The solder side is the one with all of the solder joints.
