Unfortunately Nintendo cabinets are a bit different in the way they work. Nintendo cabinets have an audio amplifier on the monitor. Since most boards (especially JAMMA boards) already put out amplified sound, your board would probably sound pretty terrible going through another amp. This is probably why we don’t see anyone producing a Nintendo cabinet to JAMMA adapter (as there is really no plug and play solution like we have with Pac Man cabinets). You could always make your own JAMMA adapter and wire around the sound amplifier but then we have added an extra layer of complexity if we ever want to take it back to it’s original state.

Also, doing a JAMMA conversion on a Nintendo cabinet is harder than other cabinets. Most of the parts inside Nintendo cabinets are known to run off of 100 VAC instead of the standard 120 VAC that we use here in the United States. There is a transformer in the cabinet that steps down our voltage so that the machine will run properly. This creates problems when we try to add a switching power supply to the cabinet. Check our our post on Working With Nintendo Arcade Games for more information. For this reason, we recommend not using Nintendo cabinets for multicade conversion. See if you can get a nice Dynamo or generic cabinet instead. It will save you a lot of headaches.
