Need help with Club Kart
Question from Pascal: Hello Guys,
I love the website, it has helped me a lot. I have an issue which i can’t seem to find in your videos or podcasts. I have a Club Kart machine that has one non functioning coin slot. The right coin slot works fine, but the left side does not register a credit. The coin goes through into the coin box, the micro switch clicks and the coin meter moves ahead. But no credit is registered. At first neither worked but we found a loose connection on the I-O board. once that was fixed the right side began working. We checked to ground and it seems to have continuity back to the I/O board. I have no idea why the meter records the coin but the software does not give a credit. The I/O board was replaced before I got the machine. Is it possible they were troubl shootign this issue or is it another faulty board? What else could it be? Would a bad micro switch still trigger the coin meter?

Many operators sell games because of issues such as this. It is very possible that they were troubleshooting this issue when they sold the game. A bad microswitch could trigger the coin meter but it’s highly unlikely. You might try running (or jumpering) the wires from the right coin switch to the left coin switch see if it registers a credit in the game. This should tell you whether you’re having a problem with your micro switch or your wiring. It could be an issue with the coin meter depending on how the wiring is hooked up to the game board.
