First and foremost a huge THANK YOU goes out to all of your work and videos as they have been my foundation to my new found hobby!
Background:
So to catch you up to speed I recently purchased a Street Fighter 2 Champion Edition in its original cab (3 Koam) which is in pristine condition! I have had the chance to open up the cab and inspect the PCB, moniter (cleaning only), and controls. Everything is in working order and original except for 3 EPROMS (21,22,23) that are a mod called PII (allows you to change characters in the game and throw fireballs in waves or diagonally). I have recently purchased new Hap comp. joysticks and replaced my old joysticks. Thanks to your control panel video!! I am completely a novice when it comes to pretty much everything as I’ve just been learning through videos, threads, and websites. I’m hooked and excited! I’ve also replaced my coin dispensing lights and marquee light thanks again to your video!! And love your retro shirts too!!
Questions:
I have a few questions:
1. I would like to put a second PCB (Street Fighter 2 Alpha 3) in the cab and use a 2 in 1 Jamma switcher.
-Do I need a second kick harness?
-Can I make my switching between games through pressing the 1 and 2 plAyer buttons simultaneously? As opposed to remote
-Would you happen to know where I can find an operational CPS2 SF2 Alpha 3 A & B board? Preferably pheonixed! I’m having an extremely hard time finding one!! I’m located in Tacoma, Washington.
2. I would like to have the option of changing out my EPROMS to the original gameplay. I have been researching and found that people use a EPROM writer/reader to get the desired gameplay of which I have no knowledge of.
-Would you know of a place besides the likes of craigslist and eBay where I could find the EPROMS?
-To add to the previous question, how can I identify the original capcom EPROMS for Street Fighter II CE and Hyper Fighting editions? FYI: EPROMS 21, 22, 23 / I have a itch to turn my SF2 CE into a Hyper Fighting game!!
Last quick question: whats the best way to clean a DUSTY PCB??!

Yes, Street Fighter Alpha 3 actually uses a different kick harness than Street Fighter 2. You will need to get a CPS-2 Kick Harness in order to hook up the Street Fighter Alpha 3 in your cabinet.

This will depend on what 2 in 1 JAMMA switch you use. The cheaper ones I’ve seen use the remote but I believe that MikesArcade.com has one that uses the 1 and 2 player buttons simultaneously. In fact, here’s the link: http://www.mikesarcade.com/cgi-bin/store.pl?sku=DBLJAMMA

Unfortunately Street Fighter Alpha 3 boards are pretty hard to come by. Check out the usual places such as eBay and different arcade forums (we have some listed on the right side of our site under Communities). You might also try posting in the Wanted sections of these forums as well.

Have you looked at Hobby Roms (http://www.hobbyroms.com)? They are a ROM programming service.
