The screen size depends on your arcade cabinet. Most 1943 cabinets I’ve seen have 19″ monitors in them but you could have a bigger or smaller monitor depending on your cabinet. The most common monitor sizes for arcade cabinets are 13″, 19″ and 25″. The best way to tell is to take a tape measure and measure across the monitor diagonally. This should tell you the correct size of your monitor.

Another thing to keep in mind is that it’s hard to find replacement CRT arcade monitors now. Most likely you’ll have to replace it with an LCD monitor which, in our opinion, doesn’t look quite the same. Also, it typically costs you more to replace your monitor than it would to fix your current monitor or to send your monitor off for repair. When arcade monitors have problems, 95% of the time it’s something on the monitor chassis. All you have to do is pull out the monitor chassis, fix it or send it off for repair, install it back in your cabinet and you’re good to go. If you want to send your chassis off for repair, Chad at arcadecup.com is a very reputable guy and has a pretty fast turn around time. You can also send your chassis to our friend Michael by emailing him at michael@tvrepaironline.com. Michael is usually cheaper than Chad (between $70-100 for repair and shipping back to you) but he might not turn it around as fast. Of course, if you’ve watched our videos you’ve probably seen the ones with Michael on monitor repair. Either one of these guys should be able to fix up your chassis like new so the choice is really up to you.
