horizontal image help needed
Question from John: Hi, I found your website while trying to figure out how to get the picture on my SoulCalibur II machine adjusted right.
I was able to get the vertical/focus/contrast all good but the screen is showing as almost two complete images squished and cut down the middle. Like it is a two player game with split screen.
I have attached images of the screen and the board. I have the manual and have tried adjusting the trim pots on the board and what I assume is the horizontal width control (the big white knob, the knob part comes out if you lift up on it, sounds like a plastic version of an allen wrench like you discussed).
The monitor is a Neotec NT-2515c

Sometimes this can occur if you have the wrong output frequency set on your board. Your Soul Calibur 2 board should have a JAMMA board that connects to your main board. This JAMMA board should contain 4 dip switches. Switches 2 and 3 of this set should control the monitor output. If you are using a standard arcade monitor, you probably need to have dip switch 3 set to the OFF position. You might also need to set dip switch 2 to the OFF position as well but I would try switch 3 by itself first before adjusting switch 2.
Please make sure that the game is powered off before making these adjustments. Check out our post on Adjusting Dip Switch Settings On A Board for more information. Of course, the manual should have more information on these dip switches as well.
