Donkey Konged …
Question from Dan: Hey guys, take a look at my multiple-problem Donkey Kong monitor. We inherited the machine from the previous owners of our home, who didn’t want to move with it. It seems to play normally, but it has always displayed like this.
If it isn’t prominent in the short video clip, there is also a rhythmic static sound from the speaker that coincides with those waves.
It seems from the research I’ve conducted so far that the video is “folded” (C407?), but the waves and audio distortion elude me. And I’m not competent to dig in there with a soldering iron.
Any guidance or direction you can provide will be warmly received, especially if it only involved tweaking pot settings … but you tell me. Your website doesn’t seem to have your location. I’m in Lima, Ohio, and would not be shy about bringing the unit to you for repair, at most modest distances.

I do have couple of things to add. Unfortunately we are not familiar with anyone in your area that does repairs. We always try to encourage people to try to do their own repairs when possible. We believe that you can fix this problem yourself if you watch our videos, read our blog posts and listen to our podcast. Of course, you will also need to pick up some tools and some soldering skills (as we discuss in the link) but overall this is not a complicated repair and probably a great place to start for a person such as yourself.
If you still don’t feel comfortable working on the monitor yourself, you might try contacting some of the people listed on our resources page underneath the Monitor Repair Services & Information heading. These people specialize in monitor repair and some will even fix your monitor provided you can remove the monitor chassis and send it to them.
