I think the word that they meant to tell you was probably sprite. Here’s a definition of sprite from Wikipedia if you would like to know more about it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sprite_(computer_graphics). Basically this just means that there is a problem with your Virtua Fighter 2 board. Before we start to suspect the board as the cause of the problem, we like to check a couple of other items in your arcade cabinet.

First, make sure that the correct voltage is getting to your board. You can do this by using a multimeter to measure the voltage. Check our post on Checking And Replacing A Power Supply for more information. Once you have verified that the voltage is good, check all of the wiring in your cabinet. Make sure that everything is connected properly and that there are no stray, loose or exposed wires in your cabinet. After that, you might start suspecting the board is the issue.
