Popeye repair..
Question from Trevor: I have appreciated the videos you have posted and wanted to say thank you for them. You also said to email you with questions, so here goes. I bought my first arcade cabinet; a Popeye game in need of a new power supply. I watched your video about classic game power supplies. My question is, could the isolation transformer and power supply be in the same box? I have included a pic of my current power supply for reference. My girlfriend told me I cannot buy anymore games until Popeye is working. So you can understand the importance of getting this game going! I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you, Trevor

Response from Jonathan: Trevor,
Yes, the isolation transformer and the power supply can be in the same box. Typically one side will supply the stepped down AC voltages to the main board (or an AC-to-DC converter board) while the other side will supply the isolated power to the monitor. This is very common in classic games such as Popeye. You should be able to tell which side is which by following the wires to their corresponding parts.
Hope that helps. Thank you for your question and good luck with your repair.
