Jambo! Safari sound problem

Question from Alan: Hi, my name is Alan Hodges. I live in St. Cloud, Florida and recently purchased a Sega Jambo! Safari arcade. It’s the kind you sit and drive. It worked great when I bought it but to get it in my house I had to take off the coin insert box and in doing so some wires came apart. It looks like it was a quick connect so I thought it would be no big deal, but when I reconnected them the sound was on full blast. The volume control inside the coin insert box does not lower the volume like it should so I can’t lower the volume. It is so loud I just disconnected all the speakers. Any thought on how I can lower the volume? Your help is much appreciated. Thank you!

Response from Jonathan: Alan,

You might take a look at the manual (here’s a link) to make sure that everything is hooked up correctly. The volume control (or potentiometer) should lower the volume so make sure that the wiring that’s going to this pot is connected properly. I didn’t see a place to change the sound volume in the test mode for the game so you might have find a replacement pot or wire up a different pot in place of your current volume control if you continue to have issues. Please let us know if you have any specific questions and we’ll try to help you out.

Hope that helps. Thank you for your question and good luck with your repair.
