Love the website, have a question
Question from Mat: I was recently playing my converted Pac Man to Ms. Pac Man and all of a sudden the color on the screen changed. The game play is still normal but the red ghost is now black to gray in color and you can only see the eyes. The rest of the first stage has turned to a brownish grey color. It seems as if the color red has disappeared from the screen. Do you think this is a board problem or could it be a monitor problem? Again I find your site very useful and informative. Any direction you can provide me is very much appreciated. Best regards, Mat

Typically color issues like this are related to a monitor issue. You might check out our post on Checking A Monitor Tube for some steps to take when you’re picture is missing a color. With that said, if the monitor checks out then it could be a board issue. You might check out the Lawnmowerman Pac Man Page at this point as it has some great troubleshooting tips that should help you out. Keep in mind that even though you have a Ms. Pac Man and not a Pac Man, the boards are basically the same except for the daughter card.
