Pentranic CRT question
Question from Robert: Dear Arcade Repair, I have an older Midway cabinet that has a Pentranic monitor circa 1997 model 1019. I just bought a JAMMA harness and I only have five wires to hook up to the board which has 6 pins and 7 wires.
– From left to right on the board it says (R G B E S)
– From left to right the connector has (Red wire, Green Wire, Black wire, Yellow and bare silver tied together, White wire, Tan wire)
How do I get my current JAMMA (Red, Green, Blue, White, Black) to hook up to this? I would like to cut the old 6 pin Molex (GAME PCB SIDE) connector off and solder into the 6 pin MONITOR wires. Any help would be great!!!! Robert

Response from Jonathan: Robert,
We discuss this a bit in our post on Replacing An Arcade Monitor so we highly suggest checking that out. Most monitors are wired RGBGS (red, green, blue, ground, sync) so that’s the way we would recommend wiring this one. The pictures I’ve seen of this monitor only show 5 pins but it sounds like your connector has 6 from your description so the white wire may be omitted. Of course, make sure you verify that this is the case by looking at how the connector fits on the pins on the monitor chassis. In closing, this is what we would do:
JAMMA Red -> Connector Red
JAMMA Green -> Connector Green
JAMMA Blue -> Connector Black
JAMMA Black -> Connector Yellow and bare silver tied together
JAMMA White -> Connector Tan
* Connector White omitted
Hope that helps. Thank you for your question and good luck with your repair.
