60 in 1 Jamma board monitor issue…. Please Help.
Question from James: I have a Big issue that I need help with. I recently bought an upright arcade cabinet (bowling game “see picture” it’s called Capcom Bowling) and I removed the old board and I replaced it with the 60-in-1 JAMMA board. I plugged it to a new power supply and I made sure that I had proper voltage before I plugged in the harness.
My problem is a monitor issue. After hooking all the buttons up, I tried to plug it to a computer VGA monitor just to test it out and I have nothing come-up despite checking the dip switch location for VGA input option. I also tried to wire the R, G, B, black and white wires to the monitor itself as a second option but I don’t know if the 5 wires is all I need. I get different colors but no picture. Again, despite me checking the dip switch location back to off for CRT monitor option. (See attached Picture)
What am I doing wrong? I have some blinking light on the board that I don’t know the meaning. Let me know if I can answer any question or if you need more pictures. Yes, the controls that you see in the picture that is attached to the bowling (joysticks trackball and buttons) I made them on my last arcade mission and I took it out of that cabinet and I modified it to fit the bowling game.
Thank You,
James

Response from Jonathan: James,
Actually, it looks like you’re doing everything right (which can be frustrating, I know from experience). We recommend doing a double check on your monitor wiring (which looks correct BTW). Try installing the Capcom Bowling board in the cabinet (assuming you still have it) or another JAMMA board and see if anything comes up on the monitor. If it does then it’s definitely a problem with your 60-in-1 board.
Speaking of the board, I see that the LEDs are lighting up but I would like to know if you’re getting sound from the board as well. These 60-in-1 boards are known for their terrible attract mode music. I would boot the game, wait about 10-20 min and see if you get that music. If you don’t, you might be having a board issue. Of course, you could have a board issue even if you do get the music. These 60-in-1 boards are made as cheaply as possible and are known to have issues from time to time. You might contact the person you bought it from to see what their return policy is. They may also be able to suggest some other steps to take in order to get it working.
Hope that helps. Thank you for your question and good luck with your repair.
