60-in-1 board error message
Question from Tyler: Help!!!! I got my 60-in-1 board yesterday and wired everything up and wasn’t able to hook up my speaker because the ends of the wires from the JAMMA harness are too small to fit the positive and negative leads on my speaker which is exactly like the speaker in another 60-in-1 unit I purchased already assembled. Once I turn everything on I get this error message on the monitor and the LED 1 light on my board flashes red. The screen says “verify music error 4”. I’m attaching some pictures to help you. Thanks for all your help cause I’m a noob and wanting to build this unit for my cousin for her birthday. Tyler

Response from Jonathan: Tyler,
Before we suspect the board, let’s make sure that we’re getting the correct voltage from the power supply. I see that your power supply has a dial that sort of indicates what it should be putting out. These kind of indicators are OK but it’s always better to use a multimeter to make sure that the voltage is indeed correct. Check out our post on Checking And Replacing A Power Supply for more information.
Of course, we also need to make sure that the correct wires are going to the speaker as well. Double check the speaker wires coming off of your harness and make sure they are connected to the speaker correctly. It’s OK to swap the positive and negative speaker wires for testing but you need to make sure they are correct once you finish the project or it could damage the speaker over time.
If the board is getting the correct voltage and the speakers are hooked up properly but you continue to have issues then you might actually have a board issue. These types of issues are not uncommon with these 60-in-1 boards. These boards are made as cheaply as possible and are known to have issues from time to time. You might contact the person you bought it from to see what their return policy is. They may also be able to suggest some other steps to take in order to get it working. I’ve had some problems with 60-in-1 boards in the past and in all cases the person I bought it from allowed me to exchange it.
Hope that helps. Thank you for your question and good luck with your repair.
