Monitor issue
Question from David: Hey guys, thanks so much for helping the noobs out with arcade buys. So my question, I recently bought an old Golden Tee case with monitor and controls. I was told that the monitor is dead but I don’t believe it is. Doing some research I found that it’s a Wells Gardner D9200. From what I can tell, it is just a 27″ VGA monitor that runs at 640×480 resolution.
Now the monitor is getting power. I wired it for that as it’s just 110 volts and I can get some kind of signal to the screen and it makes a loud squealing noise that comes and goes depending whether something is being sent to the monitor or not. Hooked it up to an old laptop that will out put 640×480. Any clues where I should start?
I have looked around my city and found very few people that even know what at CRT monitor is much less how to work on one. I can work on electronics, well at least I think I can. I have no issue wiring up a house but have little experience in soldering. So any direction you can help me look in would be great.
Thanks for all your help. David
