Question from Rob: Hi, Love your site, great job! I have a question that I was wondering if can answer: I have a Beatmania (Hiphopmania in the US) Complete Mix 2 arcade cabinet. Do you know if I can change the JAMMA board to say, a Beatmania 6th mix, etc. or other Beatmania JAMMA boards and still use the controls, etc.? If so, are there any considerations/tips for doing so? Also, do you know where I would find JAMMA boards of games like that? Any advice is appreciated! Rob

Unfortunately we are not familiar enough with Beatmania/Hiphopmania arcade cabinets to know for sure if the boards are interchangeable. The best way to find out is to locate the manuals for these games and see if the pinouts (along with any other control panel connections to the board) are the same. If they are the same, then it should be possible to swap these other boards in your cabinet. Finding these boards might be tough. You can try eBay or the different arcade forums out there but these type of Bemani boards don’t come up very often. Your best bet might be to find a Bemani specific forum and see if there are other collectors that might have some boards you can use in your cabinet.
