Where to find arcade electrical schematics, repair manuals, order replacement parts?

Question from Jason: Hello Arcade Repair, I am trying to repair multiple arcade games in a few weeks (have not seen them yet) but am trying to do my homework. First off, your YouTube videos are amazing and I have learned a lot. Thank you for posting. Where can I find electrical schematics, repair manuals, or purchase replacement parts for these arcade games? Any suggestions? Do you sell troubleshooting guides? Thanks, Jason

Jason,

First off, thank you for the kind words. We’re glad that you find our YouTube videos helpful. Make sure you check out our website as we have lots of posts and podcasts available that will help you on your arcade repair journey.

As for your questions, most schematics for arcade games can be found in their original manual. There are several sites that archive arcade manuals on the web so you should be able to find them fairly easily. The textfiles website comes to mind in particular but you should be able to find some other places if you do a Google search for the name of your game with the word manual behind it.

Replacement parts can be purchased from any of the retailers listed on our resources page under the Arcade Parts Suppliers & Distributors heading. Of course, our favorite retailer is The Real Bob Roberts but his ordering methods are pretty old school. Basically you send him an email with the parts you need, he sends you the total amount with shipping, you send him a check/money order for the amount and he ships the parts to you. While his ordering method is archaic, he does stock a lot of parts that other people don’t have and he also has a TON of arcade repair information on his site. Make sure you check it out.

Unfortunately we do not sell troubleshooting guides but we do have a post on Basic Troubleshooting Of An Arcade Game that might help you out. Our DVDs also have some videos that you can’t get on our YouTube page that can help you increase your arcade repair knowledge. There are also some websites out there that are dedicated to troubleshooting specific games. For example, Lawnmowerman’s Pac Man Page has a lot of information on Pac Man and similar cabinets. Arcade Shop has their Galaga Information Page that has lots of great stuff about Galaga cabinets. Please let us know if you need help finding information about a particular game and we’ll try to help you out.

Hope that helps. Thank you for questions and good luck with your repairs.
