Crusin world repair.

Question from Casey: Having trouble with some Cruis’n Worlds I bought a year ago. After being plugged in for about a day or two they both will start just rebooting the motherboards and going thru a startup sequence. It starts with them doing this about once an hour then they begin to do it more frequently where they can’t even get thru a race. Any advice on what could be the problem would be appreciated or parts you could sell me?

Response from Jonathan: Casey,

First thing we recommend checking anytime we have rebooting problems like this is the power supply. If the board is not getting the correct voltage then it might not have enough power to start the board up properly. Check out our post on Checking And Replacing A Power Supply for more information. Just a note: sometimes we like to turn the voltage up a little higher on driving games like Cruis’n World. You might try turning up the 5 VDC line to 5.1 or 5.2 just to make sure that the correct voltage is getting all the way through the cabinet.

Once you have verified that the board is getting the correct voltage, you might try inspecting the arcade board itself. Check out our post on Inspecting An Arcade Board for some steps you can take that might help you get your board working again. Please feel free to contact us again if you have any questions after trying these initial troubleshooting steps.

Also, we do not sell parts but we do have several vendors that we recommend. Check out our Resources page for a list of approved vendors. Hope that helps. Thank you for your question and good luck with your repair.
