Lost with LCD power

Question from Robert: Hey guys, I just wanted you to know I greatly enjoy the YouTube videos but I’m lost about wiring power for my LCD monitor in a 60-in-1 cabinet I’m building. Seems I just can’t find the info as I want to connect power inside the cab and just have one AC source coming in. The rest doesn’t look difficult but I can’t find where anyone addressed powering the LCD. Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Robert

Robert,

There are several different ways to get power to your LCD monitor. One option would be to tap the power wires for your LCD monitor directly in to your AC lines. You might check out our post on Installing A Multicade Upgrade Kit (For Pac Man Cabinets) for more information. In the video for this post, we show how we tap into the AC wires in order to wire up the additional power supply. You could use this same method for an LCD monitor as well.

Another option would be to split the AC that comes into the cabinet and actually wire up an outlet box. We like to do this in cabinets with computers in them as it gives us several different plugs that we can use for various items. We show a bit of this in our video on Wiring An Arcade Cabinet Using The JAMMA Standard. With that said, there is an extended cut of this video on our Volume 4 DVD that I would highly recommend buying if you decide to go this route.

Hope that helps. Thank you for your question and good luck with your repair.
