RGB Error

Question from Aaron: Dear Sir, I trust all is well. I would appreciate your help and guidance on the following error I am receiving on an arcade machine that I just acquired. On power on I get an “RGB error.” Machine loads and allows me to play for 10 minutes (all the colours seem fine) then the “RGB error” pops up again and resets the machine. This keeps repeating itself every few minutes making it unable to play. I am not a technical person; however, I would appreciate any help. Many thanks – Aaron

Response from Jonathan: Aaron,

We’re not sure what this error means either. You might try checking your power supply to make sure that the voltage getting to the board is correct. If the voltage is low, it can cause random board issues like this. See our post on Checking and Replacing A Power Supply for more information. You can also check out our post on Inspecting An Arcade Board for some tips that might help you if the board is indeed the problem.

If you still are having problems after checking everything we mention in our posts then you might send us some more details about the board (such as which game it is) and take some pictures of the inside of your cabinet. These things might help us identify some issues that might be causing your error.

Hope that helps. Thank you for your question and good luck with your repair.
