Response from Jonathan: Sounds like you might be having some type of collapse issue with some voltage issues as well. It’s probably not the horizontal width coil but it could be depending on which direction the bright line is going (I’m assuming that the bright line is running from the top of your screen to the bottom at this point). We definitely recommend starting this repair off by Installing A Cap Kit but you’ll probably also need to check our the vertical IC section as well which we discuss in our post on Repairing Monitor Collapse Issues.
