Recommendation for 4 way joystick
Question from Doug: Quick question: do you guys recommend a particular joystick for games that work with 4 way (i.e. Pac Man, Donkey Kong, etc.)? The ones I have used are from Holland Computers and are OK but they are switchable 4 to 8 way. It seems like the joysticks on dedicated machines work so much better. My home machine seems to want to go diagonal and generally has less control. Thanks in advance. Doug

Yeah, we’re not big fans of the 4 to 8 way switchable joysticks either. They just don’t seem to perform as well as a dedicated 4 or 8 way joystick. Suzo/Happ makes a Replacement Ms. Pac-Man/Galaga Joystick which is designed for the 20 Year Reunion cabinet but works well with other classic games as well. Our friend Michael at Cajun Arcade sells this joystick a bit cheaper and there’s no minimum order like there is with Suzo/Happ so you might consider ordering from him instead. We’ve used this joystick in several projects and have always had good luck with it.
