Arcade Repair Question – I will pay you

Question from Kerry: Hi, I have a JAMMA Board 60-in-1 stand up arcade. It worked great but after moving it upstairs the controls slid loose and disconnected. Now, it powers up OK. The lights on the board come up but the monitor doesn’t show anything and says NO INPUT.

I will pay you upfront via PayPal or otherwise and AFTER if you can assist me to fix this? I am sure it is a loose wire or something as it all worked downstairs. Perhaps $10 upfront and $20 after if you can guide me to fixing it. I will send a video/ images. Are you interested?

Response from Jonathan: Kerry,

It sounds like the wires/cord that run from the board to the monitor might have come loose during the move. Some 60-in-1 boards are connected to the monitor with several wires (around 5 or so) while some use a standard VGA cord. We recommend checking this connection between the board and the monitor to make sure that everything is attached properly. Since the 60-in-1 is a JAMMA board, you might check out our video on Wiring An Arcade Cabinet Using The JAMMA Standard as it has some great information on the JAMMA wiring standard. If the wiring is connected properly then it could be a problem with the board or the monitor itself. Feel free to send us some pictures of the wiring and we can try to help you out further. If you want to send video, we recommend uploading it to YouTube or another online service and sending us the link.

As you can probably tell, we do not charge people for our help. We offer it for free (and it might be worth the price that you pay for it 😉 ); however, we would appreciate it if you would consider purchasing our DVDs from our online store. We use the money from the sale of these DVDs to fund our website and other ventures. Plus, you get some great information on arcade repair that might help you out with this issue or other projects in the future. It’s a win, win. =)

Hope that helps. Thank you for your question and good luck with your repair.
