NBA Maximum Hangtime reboots while playing the game

Question from Steve: I bought a NBA Maximum Hangtime JAMMA board and plugged it into my MS Lloyd cabinet. It randomly resets or reboots the game when I am playing. Sometimes I can make it through a full game. I have tried many things but wanted to know your thoughts. I live in Denver. Thanks.

Response from Jonathan: Steve,

First thing we recommend checking anytime we have resetting/rebooting problems like this is the power supply. Boards that support 4 players (such as NBA Maximum Hangtime) tend to be a bit more power hungry than boards that just support 2 players or less. We recommend trying to turn up the voltage on your power supply just a bit (to about +5.1 VDC on the +5 VDC line) to see if it helps your issue. Check out our post on Checking And Replacing A Power Supply for more information.

If the problem continues after you turn the voltage up on your power supply then there might be a problem with the board itself. At this point, you might try inspecting the arcade board to see if you can find any areas that might be causing this issue. Check out our post on Inspecting An Arcade Board for more information on this process. Please feel free to contact us again if you have any questions after trying these initial troubleshooting steps.

Hope that helps. Thank you for your question and good luck with your repair.
