Hydro Thunder

Question from Sean: Hello , I need some help with a stand up Hydro Machine. I turn it on. The screen glows blueish. The fans come to life. A hum comes out of the speakers. The BOOST button flashes. LEDs inside cabinet turn on. I replaced the battery inside the computer and the 3 fuses in the cab that I can find. Really at a lost with this thing. Thanks for reading, Sean

Response from Jonathan: Sean,

From your description, it sounds like some sort of issue with the computer. You might try powering on the cabinet (make sure you give it time to boot the computer) and seeing if you can play it in this state. Sometimes the game will still play even if the video card is bad so this will test to see if this is the case. If the game never boots up, it could be a problem with the power supply inside the computer. If you hear some beeps from the computer when the game boots up, those usually indicate that there’s a problem of some sort. The pattern of the beeps can sometimes tell you the problem so make sure you take note of this for reference purposes.

There’s also a troubleshooting guide in the manual for the game that we recommend taking a look at. Suzo/Happ has this troubleshooting guide on their web site if you don’t have a manual. Here’s the link: https://na.suzohapp.com/midway/Hydro_Thunder/25/Ch6_Troubleshoot_Hydro_Uprt_25.pdf. This should give you some additional advice on how to proceed with repairing your issue. Of course, please feel free to contact us again if you have any specific questions about your problem and we’ll try to help you out.

Hope that helps. Thank you for your question and good luck with your repair.
