Monitor help
Question from Joe: My name is Joe. I own a couple of arcade games and have done two cap kits. I’m still a novice but feel comfortable soldering and checking the voltages. Here’s my problem: I just walked my nephew into his first arcade purchase, a San Francisco Rush 2049. It has a monitor issue. See the pics below. It’s a Kortek chassis (KT-2914F). Will a regular cap kit fix this or is there somewhere else that I should be looking?

It looks like you are experiencing some partial vertical collapse on your monitor. We definitely recommend starting with a cap kit but if that doesn’t work you might check out our post on Repairing Monitor Collapse Issues. That should give you some good ideas on how to fix the problem if the cap kit does not.
