Ridge Racer Power Switch
Question from Chad: I just bought a Ridge Racer stand up arcade. It was supposed to be in working condition. It was delivered and I got it plugged in but I cannot for the life of me find a power button or switch so it does nothing once plugged in. If I open the coin door only thing I see is a read test button and a metal switch and both do nothing. My question is would you know where the power button/switch would be located or what to jump to make it turn on. Thanks for any help.

Response from Jonathan: Chad,
According to the manual for the Ridge Racer standup unit (which can be found here: http://tamdb.net/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=4760), the power switch should be located above the main inlet on the rear of the main body. Please keep in mind that this is for the first Ridge Racer game. If you have a different version (such as Ridge Racer 2), the power switch may be located either at the very top, on the side, or on the bottom of the cabinet.
Also, make sure that any interlock switches in the cabinet are either depressed or pulled out so that they allow voltage to the rest of the cabinet. Interlock switches are usually located on the back of an arcade cabinet and cause the power to stop if the back door is removed. You may also find them on the coin door as well. Here’s a picture to give you an idea of what they look like: https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/proxy/D6xHkfzdGm0-auzb7V-dRx74ZhibEzvkoWyohlTB2Aqf2R6UyZGQPm8tP33i1PedpPRCXGXyvKSSZkVnK3nSbAy-AftwSpUJ0kTp1Vjm5AZhuId_hg
Hope that helps. Thank you for your question and good luck with your repair.
