The first thing we would recommend is to check to make sure both of the start buttons are hooked up properly. It could be that they have come unhooked accidently which is why you can no longer start a game. Check out our post on Wiring A Push Button for more information.

If the buttons look like they are hooked up correctly but you still can’t start a game, it could be that your Ms. Pac Man/Galaga 20th Anniversary arcade cabinet may have had it’s settings reset. This could have been caused by a glitch in the board, a power surge or several other factors. In order to get it back into free play mode, you will need to follow the steps on pages 7-9 in the manual for the game. Make sure you pay specific attention to the free play option in the general adjusts settings of the test menu.
