asteroids
Question from David: My Asteroids has a bright spot in the middle of the screen with lines zig zagging across. Can you fix it? What is the cost and where are you located?

Response from Jonathan: David,
Before you get a technician involved with your game, you might want to try adjusting your monitor to see if it helps the issue. Check out our post on Adjusting An Arcade Monitor for more information. This process is not difficult and can save you a lot of money if the problem is indeed just an adjustment. With that said, you really have two options for getting your monitor fixed. You can either send your monitor chassis off for repair or have a technician come out and look at it. We’ll discuss both options below.
If you feel comfortable removing the monitor chassis from the cabinet yourself (which we discuss in our post on Removing And Installing A Monitor Chassis) then you can ship it off for repair which will be cheaper than having someone come to your house and do it for you. Unfortunately we are not taking any monitor repairs at this time but we do have several people that we recommend. Chad at arcadecup.com is a very reputable guy and has a pretty fast turn around time. You could also contact our friend Arthur at highscoresrepair.com. He has answered several questions on our Facebook page in the past and definitely knows what he’s doing. There is a list of additional monitor repair technicians on our resources page under the Monitor Repair Services & Information heading as well.
If you do not feel comfortable with this process, you might try contacting an arcade repair technician in your area. The person who owns Atlanta Arcade Collectors sales and service center has been active on our Facebook page in the past and should be able to help you out. We also found Atlanta Arcades and Davesarcade when we did a Google search for technicians in the area. Try contacting these entities and hopefully one of them can help you out.
Hope that helps. Thank you for your question and good luck with your repair.
