60-in-1 coin jam

Question from Kevin: I have wired up a JAMMA harness in my Ms. Pac Man cabinet for a 60-in-1 board. When I hook up the coin 1 and coin 2 mechs along with the common wire, the only thing I get on the screen is a coin jam signal? The coin door worked fine before I did the 60-in-1 conversion. Any ideas?

Sometimes the coin switches on Pac Man and Ms. Pac Man will have a diode bridging (i.e. connected across) the prongs. This is probably the case with your cabinet considering the coin jam error you are describing. This diode can also cause the board to reset in certain instances when the coin switch is activated. Removing the diode should solve your issue. Hope that helps.
