Arcade repair help
Question from Chris: I ran across your website and I figure I’d ask you guys about my broken Centipede machine. The problem is that it keeps blowing the same fuse in it’s monitor board (it is an ElectroHome g07 monitor) so I ordered a g07 deluxe cap kit from Bob Roberts’ website. It came with capacitors, a flyback, and I believe transistors. After replacing all of those things it still blows the same fuse. I do not know too much about arcade repair, so I am contacting you guys. Best wishes, Chris

This could be caused by some of your diodes being shorted. You might want to check locations D901-D904 to see if they are working properly. Check out our post on Checking Diodes On An Arcade Monitor for more information. This is not a very common issue but it can be caused by either a spike in AC voltage or not running the incoming AC voltage through an isolation transformer. Other than that, you might want to check for cold solder joints or other places that look suspicious on the board (i.e. areas where the board has burnt traces or work around repairs) and make sure they are working properly.
