Arcade Repair Tips Online Store – Price Quote

Question from Blake: Hi, Thank you so much for all you do for us classic arcade collectors. I wanted to see if you have a service where I can send you non-working boards, and you fix them?? I have a Centipede board, that is not working and would love to find out what is wrong with it. If you do have this service…I would love to hear back from you. I can ship it to you, and pay you what ever you ask.

I also have a Crazy Climber that seems to have a issue with the sound? When the game comes on….you hear the start music…but that is it. You do not hear the sound of the man climbing up the building or pots hitting his head, ect… Yet other sounds work just fine? I guess I would say it is the background sounds that are missing. Any ideas?? and could I send you this board as well to see if you can help.

Thanks again, and I can’t wait to hear back from you!

Response from Jonathan: Blake,

First off, thank you for your kind words. We’re glad that you find the information on our site valuable to you and we hope that you will continue to check back for more posts, podcasts and videos in the future.

As for your questions, we’re definitely not the best when it comes to board repair to be honest with you. There are a couple of people that we recommend for these types of repairs. You can check out our Resources page for a list. We highly recommend Raymond at Arcade Components. His site is down at the moment but you can also get in touch with him on the KLOV forums where his username is ChannelManic. He also has some great repair logs on NewLifeGames.net that you might check out. He does an excellent job of documenting what the problem is and how he fixes it with every board that he works on. Alex at Elektron Forge also does some board repair work in case you can’t get in touch with Raymond. Both guys are very good at board repair and should be able to get your boards up and running.

Thank you for your questions and good luck on your future repairs.
