Question from Gabe: Hello Arcade Repair Tips! I enjoy your site and videos a lot. I am new to restoration and have been inundating myself with information, but I get stuck on some very simple things that I think are usually glossed over in the tutorials I read. I have an Astro Blaster that works great except there is no sound or speech. All the wires out of the back of the volume knob seem to be in place, but I can continue to turn the knob itself indefinitely to the left or right. The other thing I noticed when I opened up the back was this: (no picture attached) I looked in the manual and this (J2) is the one that goes to the sound and speech boards. How do I check a wire like this for continuity or to see if it’s working? Like, where exactly do I put the black and red wands to see if this frayed wire is the problem? Is there anything else I need to check? Thanks, Gabe
