Question from Steven: Is it possible to put an LCD monitor in a Tron cabinet? If so, how do you deal with the negative composite sync signal? Do you splice and connect all 4 wires (+V,+H, and –V,-H) together to one sync?
Sincerely,
Steven

Steven,
I’ve heard of people having problems with digital monitors in games such as Tron and Spy Hunter but some have gotten it to work. I believe that even though you see 4 sync wires going to your monitor that the 2 vertical sync wires and the 2 horizontal sync wires are actually tied together. These wires come from the J2 connector that only has one vertical sync pin and one horizontal sync pin but it’s not uncommon for manufacturers to split the horizontal and vertical syncs for monitor input.
You might try tying just the negative vertical and horizontal sync wires together and hooking it up as composite sync. Let us know how it goes from there. Thank you for your question and good luck with your repair.
