Coin lights
Question from Bill: Hey guys! Love the YouTube channel! I’m a new arcade cabinet owner and I’m doing my best to restore an old game to working order. My question is about coin lights. I pulled this bulb out and I measured the voltage in the socket and it was 1.92v. The bulb looks good, but I haven’t found and tested a new bulb. Are there any bulbs that operate at that low of a voltage in arcade games? Could my problem be improper voltage instead of a bad bulb? Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Nope, there are no bulbs that operate at this low of voltage that we know of.

Yep, sounds like your socket is not getting the right voltage.
According to the specs for your bulb (1847, http://www.grainger.com/Grainger/GE-LIGHTING-Miniature-Incandescent-Bulb-6VF94), it looks like you should be getting around 5-7 VDC in your socket. We recommend tracing down the wiring going from your +5 VDC line on your power supply to the coin door lights to see if there’s anything that might be causing the low voltage. The coin door could be wired incorrectly, there could be a short in the wiring or you might have a distribution block not working properly. I tend to lean towards the first of those options just from your explanation.
