CRT wiring question
Question from Kevin: Hello. I am building my first 60-in-1 machine. Any guidance you could provide would be greatly appreciated. I am converting an old Galaga system. I have wired everything with the exception of the monitor. My JAMMA harness only has 5 wires and my monitor has 6. I have found some schematics for the Tovis mtg 1901cn monitor. I am unsure what to do with the video sync wire from the harness. My monitor has both a negative vertical sync as well as a negative horizontal sync. Would I just tie them together?

Response from Jonathan: Kevin,
Based on the image you provided, it looks like you will need to split the sync wire coming from your JAMMA harness so that it connects to both the negative vertical sync and the negative horizontal sync pins on your monitor chassis (the pins on the end of your monitor connector). JAMMA uses a negative composite sync that includes both horizontal and vertical signals which is why it must be split (or looped) for your particular monitor. With that said, we highly recommend checking out the Monitor Sync page by Bob Roberts as it has some great information about your specific issue.
Hope that helps. Thank you for your question and good luck with your project.
