DONKEY KONG QUESTION
Question from James: Hi there,
I purchased a used Donkey Kong upright, arcade, circa 1981 and am looking to restore it. When I went to go pick it up, I noticed that my refurbishing was going to have to even include stuff I wasn’t intending: the base.
The guy I bought it from, took off the 4 boards that together comprise a square that the machine actually rests on. (He claimed that too many people didn’t know hoe to properly move an cabinet like this and didn’t want the whole thing getting ruined.) In any event, it looks like the boards were attached via powerful tacks or something from the inside of the floor board of the cabinet.
So, my question is: any tips on how to put them back into place?

Response from Tim: I would turn the game on its side and line up the boards where I want to them to go and mark around them with a crayon or marker. Then after removing the boards you can drill small pilot holes from the bottom upwards then you can go inside the cabinet and drill in those same holes using good wood screws that are not too long to go into the wood. Will need someone to help hold the boards for you while you drill.
