Fw: Space Invaders Deluxe- monitor problem
Question from Ray: Hi Guys,
I been a fan for years and you helped me in the past. Last week I picked a Space Invaders Deluxe, it looks all original. It plays great and display is bright and clear and no sign of burn-in. Now come my problem at times the display will just turn off and the game will still play blind and then it may come back. A power cycle will always bring it back on and it good for hours or days. It has a WG 19V1001 chassis with the year 1980 on it .
A little move info on the problem, I never lose neck glow, and even when the monitor is playing blind and when I turn it off I see what I call screen collapse .. the screen flash before it turns off just like it does normally. I’m starting to think the problem might not be with the monitor but more losing signal from the game board because at times it’s fading in and out.. what do you guys think?
Any help would greatly appreciated.

Sounds like you might be on the right path. Definitely sounds like more of a connection problem between the board and the monitor than the monitor itself. You might check the wiring and the connections coming from the board harness and going to the monitor. We also recommend touching up the solder on the pins on the back of the monitor chassis where these wires come in. This is a common fail point for most monitors.
