Grounding plug issue
Question from Will: Hi, my name is Will and I’m in Tulsa, Ok. I have an old Drangon’s Lair 2 type cabinet that has the ground prong missing from the plug. It is constantly running a current though the bolts in the CPO whether the game is powered on or not. I’m guessing the current is coming from the coin mech and flows through the bolts that mount the CPO to the hinge. I took your advice and replaced the plug with a grounded 3 prong plug but the game will not power on at all using this plug. When I change back to the 2 prong (with the broken ground prong) the game fires up and plays fine but runs a strong current through the before mentioned bolts. It was running a MK2 game board when I got it with the same issue. I’ve changed the board to a MK3 and still have the same problem with getting shocked by the bolts. Any help you could give me in resolving this would be most appreciated.
Thanks for your time,
-Will

Response from Tim: Use the 3 prong but hook up the 2 wires to you like your other one and run a serperat wire yourself for the ground…make sense? just run it to some metal int he bottom somewhere under a screw etc
