HELP ME!
Question from Edijunio: Hello, my name and edijunio and in my city there is no one to make repairs on arcades. I was wondering if you could help me. I live in Brazil and I have four arcades. One with the effect cushion and another has sound and it takes about ten seconds for the image to appear. After about five minutes, it brightens to normal brightness. Can you help me? I’m using Google translate. I do not speak English.

From your description, it sounds like you are having monitor issues with two of your arcade games: one has a distorted picture with a pincushion effect and the other is taking a while to boot up but is working. In both cases, it’s probably a good idea to start with a cap kit. Please see our post on Installing A Cap Kit for more information. In this post, there is also a link to the What’s My Monitor page on Bob Roberts website that will help you identify which monitor you have so you can order the correct cap kit for it.
Obviously installing a cap kit does require some soldering skill so if you’re not familiar with this you might order our Volume One DVD as it has a soldering tutorial video that you might find helpful. You might also check out our post on Removing And Installing A Monitor Chassis as you will need to take the chassis out of the game to work on it.
