help with monitor issue

Question from David: Hi,

Was wondering if you could help with an issue with a mario bros. game.. The monitor has white vertical lines similar to what I have read about “jail bars” but they are not dark they are white, this is on a sanyo 19″. Do you think this might be a capacitor issue? and if so can I replace individual caps or do I have to replace all of them?

Any help would be appreciated.

Response from Tim: Hey David what you are describing is usually the capacitor issue so good time to do a cap kit. You dont have to replace them all but why now since you will be in there working and dont want to have to work on it for a while plus it may fix other issues. Not sure what specific caps cause that anyway, but a cap kit generally fixes it.
