Hi guys, another question

Question from Julian: Hi guys, I hope I can get into the elite circle of listeners who has gotten two questions in one podcast! I love listening to you guys while I do my boring dayjob, so I can’t wait for new episodes! A while back I bought a WGK7901 off of craigslist. It was cheap and the owner admitted it has a little burn-in, which it does, but I am only meaning to use it for a JAMMA test rig so I don’t care if there is a little burn in. Just a future tip for other listeners, JAMMA is a negative composite sync signal and I have read online that other K7000 series monitors (all but the K7901) only wants to JAMMA negative composite sync hooked to horizontal negative sync on the chassis. I first tried connecting the JAMMA sync to both negative horizontal and vertical and got crazy screen but only negative horizontal and it syncs properly. Anyway, the monitor is syncing okay but has a weird problem. No matter how much I adjust it, the picture looks like crap. My colors are good, but there is a static which looks JUST like an old crappy zenith TV with an RF antenna which is getting bad reception. On black screens in the game, you can really see a wavey, static effect. There is no speaker hooked up to my JAMMA test rig yet since I haven’t gotten that far. I wonder if a cap kit could possibly fix the problem or if the tube is just ancient and has it’s best days behind it? Thanks so much, Julian from Seattle, WA
