K7300 Green Screen Issue

Question from Scott: Hello,
I just did a tube swap on a WGk7300 and when I power on the monitor, the screen is green. I removed the output transistor on the neckboard for the green and its still green. Does this indicate a short in the green gun of the tube?

Thanks, Scott

Response from Jonathan: Scott,

Yep, definitely sounds like there is a short in the green gun of the tube. There could be an issue with your neck board but if the chassis was somewhat working on your old tube then that’s probably OK. You might contact our friend Michael which you’ve probably seen in some of our videos. He might be able to help you out further with this issue. Check out his website at http://www.tvrepaironline.com for more information.

Thanks for your question and good luck with your future repairs.
