message #2 – Jr. Pac man In pac man cabinet Monit
Question from Louis: HI this is my second email – I dont mean to be a pain i just had some ?progress? My machine is a jr. pac man in a pac man cabinet (field kit) I have a wave to my monitor and I spot of off color . Cleaning up the fuse block and removing the “Ms. Pac man fcc filter board” and associated ground strap and cleaning the pcb connection (although i only sprayed connection cleaner in the edge connector (i didnt try the sandpaper on the credit card in the edge connector thing) I used the cleaner and a scotch brite pad on he board. It helped the wave a whole lot but its still there. The monitor also makes a crackling sound like a gieger counter while its on.(its an electrohome monitor 19″)I’m confused because this has the upgright monitor boards with he black plastic bar to hold them in but i researched that is supposed to be wells gardner monitors but it says electrohome on the tube sticker..I see online say its prob not a cap kit its usually ac creeping into
the monitor through a bad connection or through the monitor power supply. ( I am not prepared to take the monitor out of the cabinet and desolder and resolder(newbie)) Thank you – Louis from Baldwin, NY

Response from Tim: No problem its why we are here. Check out http://www.therealbobroberts.net/hum.html and read what Bob Roberts has to say about the humbar fix. Only way to get rid of it totally is to replace that fuse block. Worked for us every time.
The tube was probably made my Electrohome and the chassis by WG. Sounds like you have a WGK4600. Does it look like this? http://www.therealbobroberts.net/4600.html
Now it reference to the gieger counter sound. Its probably your flyback or the power supply section of the monitor.
Hope that helps.
Tim
