Midway Pacman
Question from Barry: I have an early 1980’s Midway PacMan cocktail. The chassis/monitor is an Electrohome G07 CBO and all boards and chassis appear to be original.
Recently the monitor was slow to light up, now it’s blank however you can hear and operate the game. I have watched all your videos relating to monitors and have the following questions.
1. The game is a keeper should I just buy a new monitor and if so do you sell them and at what cost including shipping to MI 48060?
2. If I remove the chassis and ship it to you what is the cost to recap, replace the flyback and width coil, test the chassis and ship to MI?
3. I’ve owned and maintained numerous pinballs, jukeboxes and slots over the years. I’m weak when it comes to circuit board diagnostics/repairs but am a very good at following directions and soldering. Would you suggest buying the parts from you and doing it myself?

Response from Tim: 1. We currently do not have any new monitors in stock. No american company is currently manufacturing them that I know of because they are tube monitors. You can find them on ebay or through betson $189 you can probably add another $30 to ship http://www.betson.com/products/parts/IMP-44-4019-02

To be honest these monitors places are selling now come from Korea and I dont like them much. Yours repaired will probably last longer. One thing to consider is your tube though and how much screen burn you have. A new monitor will eliminate that.
2. To completely rebuild your chassis including shipping will run $110.
3. Our site is dedicated to helping you do most repairs yourself. We stock very few parts for our local repairs. You can get all the parts required from Bob Roberts http://www.therealbobroberts.net and save around $60. If you know how to solder there is not a lot to it just a little time.
